Re: HALLOWEEN Security procedures
Dear Unit Owner:
With Wyndcrest’s popularity as a trick or treat destination for resident and neighboring children alike, we write to remind everyone of community access procedures for this holiday. These steps are in place as a direct result of recommendations from the Condominium’s liability insurance provider and the “near misses” that have occurred in the past few years between cars and kids on the two community streets.
- Winterberry and Deertree Lanes will be CLOSED TO NON-RESIDENT vehicular traffic from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A uniformed officer will control community access and ONLY residents will be permitted to drive into either street. Residents will be required to produce a valid Drivers License as proof of residency.
- If you have invited “guest” trick or treaters, they MUST ARRIVE BY NO LATER THAN 3:45 p.m. and the car(s) must be parked in the hosting Unit Owner’s driveway, or designated “visitor” spaces. - Non-resident visitors arriving after 4:00 p.m. will be forced to park on adjacent roads, but will be permitted to walk through the community.
Last year many ‘invited’ guests adorned the community with shaving cream, silly string and toilet paper and the Board received numerous angry complaints despite the security measures enacted. Chemicals in the string and shaving cream damaged some painted surfaces. Left unattended these can also damage the finish on cars. Halloween is for the ‘trick or treaters’, not for defacing or damaging the community. Please, only invite guests who will respect Wyndcrest property. These measures are intended to provide a safe and secure environment for the children of Wyndcrest and their friends. We trust you will cooperate and properly supervise your child’s activities that evening. Thank you.
Sincerely
Wesley Woodlief
